We want to keep the Pen4God Pen Pal Club safe and secure, so we make these recommendations for you to observe.
1. For the first few emails we recommend that you send them via the Club’s email address. We will not disclose your name or address to your new pen pal.
2. When you feel comfortable with them and believe it safe to communicate direct, then we recommend that you do so initially using only your own email before disclosing your own postal address.
3. In due course you may decide to meet personally, so we recommend that you take these few simple safety precautions when setting up your first meeting.
4. Meet your new found friend in a public place — a café or restaurant, for example — never at either of your homes.
5. We recommend that you do not accept a lift in their car in the first instance, nor offer a lift in yours.
6. Always tell someone you can trust where you are going, who you are meeting and what time you expect to be back at home.
7. Ring your trusted friend when you get home to confirm that all is well.
It is our prayer that this Pen4God Pen Pal Club will meet a need by bringing together people of like minds who might otherwise have been very lonely. We trust your pen pal relationships will flourish to the glory of God and the mutual enjoyment and blessing of those who ‘join’ the Club, which is automatic when you send your personal description.
