The Pen4God Global Ministries Online Bible School brings together a wealth of teaching material built up through over fifty years of Christian ministry and presented here COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE to those who want to learn more about “what the Bible says”, desire to experience a deeper daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ as they acquire a greater understanding of God’s Word, and to develop an ability to apply that Word to their daily lives.
As its title suggests, this is an online Bible school – everything is done online! Because it operates exclusively online, there are no examinations to send in for marking, therefore no postage is involved – it is, in fact, a paper free environment. However, students are free to download and print off for their own use any material on this site if they so desire.
Online learning can be very rewarding as well as exciting, because students can study in the comfort of their own home, set their own pace, use whatever method of study they choose – the practical suggestions given below are just that, suggestions, they are not instructions – and as there are no examinations to send in for marking there is no deadline to meet so there is no time pressure. In other words, the approach to study is extremely flexible. Indeed, the whole aim and purpose of the school is simply to teach, encourage and train students in their study of God’s Holy and Infallible Word.
The important thing to remember is that to get the best benefit from these modules, Bible study must be systematic and regular – daily Bible study! There is no time limit or deadline to meet, so students are advised not to rush through the modules, remembering that it is God we are seeking to please, not man; therefore let the studies nurture that desire to experience a deeper daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ as a greater understanding of God’s Word is acquired and an ability to apply that Word to daily living is developed.
To obtain the best results from studies of the modules students are encouraged to follow the practical suggestions outlined here – but as we have already said, these are suggestions, not instructions. Students are free to adopt their own method of study.
Students should always precede each session of study with prayer.
1. Initially students should begin by reading the whole module through once without linking to any resources that may be available.
Note: although this is a paper free environment, it may be helpful to print off each module and file them in a loose leaf A4 ring binder. As an alternative, the student may prefer to write out each module by hand – a loose leaf A4 ring binder is suggested for this rather than an exercise book; it is more flexible! It is a well known fact that we remember better what we write rather than what we just read, so handwriting the modules can be an additional aid to learning.
2. Now read the module through again, this time looking up any resources that may be available. This will take longer than the initial reading, but students are reminded that there is no rush, so they can take their time!
Note: This second reading may take several days, especially if the student has decided to write out the module by hand. The resource material should be either printed off and filed with the module, or handwritten if that is the method employed. Anything the student does not fully understand, or if a question is prompted by the studies, send us an email using the link at the end of this page. The email reply from the school can then be filed with the module.
3. Work through one section at a time within each module, printing off or handwriting each resource (if there is one) before moving on to the next section. In this way the student will systematically “build up” the important truths being taught in that module.
Note: By proceeding in this way the student will “personalise” each module, especially if the material is handwritten rather than printed off, because each study will become essentially his or her “own work”. It is further suggested that, when each module is completed in this way, the student should read it through prayerfully at one sitting before proceeding to another module.
4. The Pen4God Global Ministries Bible School does not set examinations. The student is encouraged to make his or her own assessment of how well each module has been mastered, realising that these studies are undertaken for the glory of God alone, and that no earthly examination or award can compare with the reward He gives for work well done in His name.
Note: Students will know within their own hearts whether or not they have met God’s standard in their study of His Word. Those who have any doubts have the opportunity to go back over each module again until that standard is achieved. In any case, it is good practice to revise the “personalised” studies from time to time, remembering that we study to show ourselves approved unto God as workmen that need not be ashamed – that is the greatest award.
Basically there are two main things:
1. Bible modules that will guide the student in understanding “what the Bible teaches” based on the Beliefs outlined in the panel below – the Beliefs on which the whole Pen4God Global Ministries Website is founded.
2. Reliable resources to back up the modules and provide additional helpful material for study, including a bibliography. Links are provided to the Resources page where required throughout the modules.
